Vovinam Sydney : - Grading Ceremonies

The Grading Ceremonies was be held on Saturday, June 27th , 2009 at Sydney.
Ms. Anne Sinclair representing the Honerable Tony Burke, Federal member for Watson and Federal Minister for Agricultures, Fisheries and Forestry presented VOVINAM - Viet Vao Dao Sydney with two Australian flags and the Australian National Anthem CDs. The Australian National Anthem is from the Australian Prime Minister and Cabinet Office. Ms. Sinclair also presented certificates signed by the Hon. Tony Burke to the four Australian representatives.

The Mayor of Canterbury City and Member of Lakemba Councillor Robert Furolo provided an encouraging speech to the four students who will represent Australia at the World VOVINAM Championships.

Other dignatries include: Sgt Thomson, Campsie Police Command; Councillor Brian Robson, Canterbury City Council, Mr. Truong Cong Hien, President of the Vietnamese Veteran Association; Mr. Nguyen Van Chuong, Quang Nam Da Nang Friendship Association; Mrs. Pham Ngoc Trinh Vietnamese Senior Association; Dr. Jamal Rifi, President, Lakemba Sports and Recreation Club; Ms. Fatima Kourouche, State Advisor - Australian Sports Commission and parents.

There were 23 students receiving their new belts from blue to Blue III. Due to illness there were four students could not attend the Belt presentation.

Vs. Samuel Nguyen accepted the students oath to VOVINAM Viet Vo Dao by acknowledging the founder, the late Grand Master Nguyen Loc and the current Grand Master Vs. Le Sang. Students were reminded of their responsibilities to VOVINAM Viet Vo Dao in their oath taking.

Thomson, Mr. Truong Cong Hien, Mr. Nguyen Van Chuong, Dr. Jamal Rifi, Ms. Fatima Kourouche and Mrs. Pham Ngoc Trinh for attending the Grading Ceremonies and contribute greatly to the success of the day.
